"Being a good interior designer is somewhat like being a good couturiere,"says Christine Cain, "Everything has to fit the personality of the client." Cain, a senior designer at Jed Johnson Associates since 1993 continues, "Appropriateness of the interior to the architecture is, of course, required, but the lifestyle of the client is just as important. Making it all fit together is where decorating becomes art."
Christine Cain was graduated from Louisiana State University with a degree in interior design. Her Southern roots give her an inborn appreciation of traditional English and French design though she declares herself a "classic modernist." Known for her refined and understated sensibility, she focuses on spaces that are elaborately wrought yet have the gift of simplicity. "Working with Jed taught me the value of subtlety." She continues, "A room should never scream wealth, it should whisper luxury" Cain's work has been published in Architectural Digest, Interior Design, House & Garden, and House Beautiful.
